Head Start

For the convenience of families, Head Start uses the same application as NCPK but is not operated by Caldwell County Schools. The Caldwell County Head Start site is Northside Children’s Learning Center in Lenoir.

Classroom Instruction and Formats

Classes are designed to best meet the needs of students of all abilities.

NCPK guidlines and CCS protocols for preschool classrooms are directed to ensure instruction is planned, intentional, and individualized.

Locations

In Caldwell County, the NC Pre-Kindergarten program is administered by Caldwell County Schools. Our program is currently at one private childcare center, one Head Start center, two high schools, and twelve elementary schools.

Universal Preschool Screening

Parents who would like for their child to be screened may contact the Preschool Readiness Center at 828-726-3920. Monthly screenings are scheduled through our office throughout the school year. Screenings are available for preschool children ages 3-5 years old
